RICHMOND HILL, ONT. — The newest Amazon delivery station in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, and the company’s first in Richmond Hill, has opened.

Located on Vogell Road and measuring 225,000 square feet, DOI4 is part of Amazon’s “last mile†– the last stop before Amazon packages are delivered to customers. Employees at the site sort, scan and prepare packages before they are loaded onto vehicles operated by delivery partners.

“The site has ramped up quickly: during the upcoming holiday season, DOI4 will process more than 50,000 packages a day,†states a release.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Mayor David West, MPP Daisy Wai and members of Richmond Hill council.

“Amazon ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø picked a great location to set up their newest distribution site as Richmond Hill is situated in the heart of the GTA with easy access to the 400-series highways for enhanced delivery efficiencies,†said Mayor David West.

“As a city, we strive to attract multinational companies to invest in our community and we’re having success, creating additional opportunities for Richmond Hill residents to live, work and play locally. This is a great opportunity for everyone involved and we are truly excited to welcome Amazon ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø to our community.â€
