RICHMOND, B.C. — Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN) is kicking off its 26th annual Coats for Kids campaign in support of the Lower Mainland and Surrey Christmas Bureaus.
The two groups provide assistance to low-income families. HAVAN will co-ordinate efforts to collect coats for its campaign until Dec. 3.
This year the campaign is supported by 44 HAVAN member companies who are supplying 54 drop-off locations across 13 Metro Vancouver municipalities. HAVAN encouraged everyone who has new or gently used coats, scarves, gloves, blankets and new unwrapped toys and gifts for children of all ages to visit one of the locations.
After the donations are collected, HAVAN member companies will gather to build and present one massive donation to the and on Friday, Dec. 3 at in Richmond from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
Volunteers from Dicks Lumber and PoCo Building Supplies will be onsite loading donations into the trucks for delivery. On arrival, guests will be treated to hot cocoa and coffee, compliments of Designs by KS, plus Buddy the Elf’s Hot Breakfast, thanks to . HAVAN added to keep everyone looking festive, is sponsoring C4K face masks.
HAVAN encouraged attendees to bring the kids for a photo op with Santa, compliments of Ի.

“Clear out your family’s coats no longer in use,” said HAVAN in a press release. “The goal is to collect over 10,000 items to build a mountain of coats. Help us reach our goal.”
